Privacy Policy

Lake Hamilton PTO collects only the information needed to keep parents informed about events and volunteer opportunities at their child's school. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to have your information deleted at any time.

What we collect
From the parent / guardian
First name, last name, email address, and optionally a phone number.
About each child
First name, optional grade, and the school they attend. We do not collect date of birth, last name, address, or any other identifying detail.
Volunteer activity
If you sign up for a volunteer slot, we record which slot, the time you signed up, and any optional note you leave.
Why we collect it
  • Email — to send PTO updates, event reminders, and volunteer opportunities you can opt out of at any time.
  • Phone (optional) — reserved for future SMS reminders. We do not text you today.
  • Child's grade and school — to show you events and announcements relevant to your child's building rather than the full district firehose.
How we handle children's information

We require an explicit confirmation that the person submitting the signup form is the parent or legal guardian of any child listed. We intentionally collect the minimum amount of information needed to route content to the right school — a first name, an optional grade, and the school.

We do not display children's information publicly, share it with third parties, or use it for any purpose outside of PTO communications. If you would prefer not to include your child's information at all, you may sign up for the newsletter by contacting us directly at our contact form.

How to delete your information

You can have all of your information — and any associated children — permanently removed at any time. Email info@lhpto.com or submit a request through our contact form with the subject line "Delete my data". We will confirm deletion within seven days.

You can also unsubscribe from email updates without deleting your account by clicking the unsubscribe link in any PTO email.

Who can see your information

Only authorized PTO board members and committee chairs have access to subscriber information, through the PTO admin portal. Your data is not sold, shared with the school district as a roster, or made available to outside vendors. Volunteer slot rosters may show your first name to other parents only if you opt in when signing up for a slot.
